Recently, the Shandong Provincial Oceanic Administration announced the winners of the 2024 Shandong Marine Science & Technology Innovation Award. The "Genghai No.1" Intelligent Marine-Ranch Complex Construction Technology Innovation and Application Project — jointly developed by Shandong Marine Modern Fishery Co., Ltd. together with Yantai University, the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences and Shandong Guangwei Marine Technology Co., Ltd. — won the First Prize.
"Genghai No.1" is the country’s first intelligent large-scale ecological marine-ranch complex platform, integrating smart fishery, leisure tourism, marine research and science popularization — an innovative practice of digitalization, intelligence and ecological development in the field of marine ranching. During the project’s construction and implementation, GW-OCEAN fully provided digital and intelligent management support for the platform. By deploying a radar–electro-optical surveillance system on the Genghai platform, it carried out all-weather, blind-spot-free monitoring of "Genghai No.1" and its surrounding waters and built an intelligent vessel-supervision platform, centrally enabling functions such as vessel supervision, marine-ranch watch, anti-collision early-warning, command-and-dispatch and emergency management. By deploying a marine-biology habitat monitoring system, it enabled real-time monitoring of water-quality parameters in the "Genghai No.1" aquaculture waters, underwater biological video surveillance, monitoring of marine meteorological elements, early-warning and forecasting, and real-time data analysis.
The successful implementation of the "Genghai No.1" Intelligent Marine-Ranch Complex Construction Technology Innovation and Application Project greatly improved the management efficiency of the marine ranch, raised the utilization efficiency of marine-ranch resources, and promoted the protection of the marine ecological environment, making the "Genghai No.1" marine ranch a pioneer of diversified, integrated marine-ranch development nationwide. It created a model demonstration and successful template of an intelligent marine ranch, injecting new vitality into the development of the marine economy.
The Shandong Marine Science & Technology Innovation Award honors teams and individuals who have achieved remarkable results in the field of marine science and technology innovation, covering basic research, technology development, management and public service. The First Prize won this time by the "Genghai No.1" project co-developed by GW-OCEAN is a comprehensive affirmation of the company’s professional capability in the field of ocean digital intelligence, laying a solid foundation for the company to deepen and expand its core businesses of Intelligent Ocean, Smart Fishery and Marine & Fishing Equipment.
